Connect Family,
The word for the month in our Children's ministry is GRATITUDE. Each week they are reminded and taught about gratitude. So often we forget to be grateful for all God's blessing on our life. We live in a free country and have opportunities for employment and education for our families. God has given us so much.
If you are GRATEFUL and have the opportunity to share your blessings with others, please consider being a part of our Bustamante, Mexico project. Small plastic boxes are available on Sundays at our Connect Now display for families to take and fill. Each box is labeled and includes a list of small items to purchase for one child in Mexico.
Also, December 13 will be our Women's Christmas Event called Open Hearts - Outstretched Hands. Our women will be working at the Mission Arlington Christmas Store from 9-11am, followed by lunch from 11:30am to 1pm. You can reserve a place for you (and a friend) on Sundays, November 30 and December 7, or RSVP online. Our Women's Ministry will be collecting gently used items for the Christmas Store (for both boys and girls). You can bring your items to the Information Table on Sundays or to the church office Mondays - Thursdays. Items for BOYS: Wallets, CD's, and Necklaces. Items for GIRLS: Jewlery, Journals, and CD's. Colossians 3:15 says, "And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your heart to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

CHRISTMAS BOXES for BUSTAMANTE STARTS SUNDAY
If you were with us last year at this time, you know that we collected Christmas gifts for children in Bustamante, Mexico. Beginning on Sunday, empty boxes will be available at the Connect Now table for individuals to take. Total contents of each box should contain approximately $10 to $15 of gifts. The boxes will be labeled so you will know if your gift is for a boy or girl and their approximate age. Our missions team, who travels to Bustamante in December, will deliver the gifts. For more information please contact or come to the Connect Now table on Sunday.

If you were at church on Sunday, you should know that we are ALL memorizing Colossians 2:6-7 (from the NIV Bible).
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)
Print this email and cut this verse out. Keep it nearby and commit to memorize it before Sunday. On Sunday in worship, we will quote the verse together. (It will be on the screens, but it will be great to quote it from knowing it.)
As you memorize it this week, read the first chapter of Colossians. Come on Sunday morning expecting to meet God, ready to worship him. As you pray this week and consider this verse, thank God for his STRENGTH and for his FAITHFULNESS; come before him with a heart overflowing with THANKFULNESS.
BUSTAMANTE DECEMBER TRIP INFORMATION MEETING On Sunday, October 26, at noon (immediately following the 10:45 service). Thomas Robeson will meet with all who are interested in going on the Mexico Mission trip in December. The meeting will be brief and will be held in the ART ROOM at the Duncan Center. If you have questions before Sunday, please email Thomas.

CANDY - CANDY - CANDY
As you know we are constantly looking for ways we can impact our community and the world. Our CONNECT NOW project for this coming Sunday is CANDY. Mission Arlington is hosting a city-wide Fall Festival this coming week. They expect to reach thousands of children, many who do not attend church anywhere. We are going to help by supplying some of the needed CANDY. Therefore, if possible, plan to bring unopened packages of CANDY to the CONNECT NOW display at Connect on Sunday. We will then take it to Mission Arlington this week. If you are interested in helping with the Festival, contact Mission Arlington at 817-277-6620. (They need volunteers, including drivers.)
BUSTAMANTE INFORMATION MEETING
We plan to send more individuals and families to Bustamante again this December.
Depart: Friday evening, December 19.
Return: Tuesday evening, December 23
Cost: $225 per person (includes transportation, lodging, and meals across the border)
Information Meeting: Sunday, October 26, immediately following the 2nd service in the Art Room.
(All 6th graders and younger must be accompanied by a parent.) Contact for more information.

Check out the dates below (or on our website) for information on upcoming events at Connect. PJs & Popcorn for K-4th graders, Student Worship for 9th-12th graders, Men's Fish Fry, plus much more. Look for a change in location for Club 7-8 on Sunday, October 5 and 12.
